Every morning, from Monday to Friday, you can visit producers of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese. Reservation required. Foodies must not miss a visit to producers of prosciutto and culatello di Canossa or Canossello, as well as the countless wineries.
As for cultural activities, Reggio Emilia boasts Musei Civici, Galleria Parmeggiani, Museo del Tricolore and Museo Diocesano, all worthy of a visit. Some of the historical churches are the cathedral of S. Maria Assunta, Basilica della Ghiara, and Basilica di San Prospero.
In Reggio Emilia, lovers of modern art can appreciate the Maramotti Collection, Spazio Gerra, permanent exhibits of artists such as Sol LeWitt and Richard Serra, and the Calatrava Bridge. Palazzo Magnani also hosts temporary exhibits.
Those who enjoy shopping have plenty of options to choose from. The city market of Reggio Emilia takes place on Tuesdays and Fridays in the historical centre of the city, while on Saturday mornings a farmers’ market is held in Piazza Fontanesi, in Reggio. In addition to the many shops in the historical centre of the city, there is a Max Mara outlet in Boretto, only 30 km from Cavazzone, and another outlet, Fidenza Village, a 45-minute drive on the A1 highway towards Milan.
Cavazzone is close to interesting destinations. These include Parma and Modena, famous for their cuisine and their artistic treasures, Bologna with its medieval history, Mantua with its artistic and cultural heritage, Verona and its famous arena, Lake Garda, Milan, the fashion and art centre, and finally Cinque Terre with their breathtaking views.

You can also explore the villages of the Low Reggio region along the Po river, visit the Peppone e Don Camillo museum, admire the Rocca di Novellara and the towns of Guastalla and Gualtieri, the Rocca di Scandiano, and the Palazzo dei Principi in Correggio. Car aficionados can visit the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, the Enzo Ferrari Museum in Modena, the Lamborghini Museum, Ducati, and Pagani Automobili.
